Our community is our greatest ally in delivering a practical, holistic education for the young people of Serpentine and Jarrahdale.
We have several ties to our community and welcome parents, carers and community members to join our P&C and Board so they too can contribute to the success of our students.
The College Parent and Community committee plays an essential role in the college, each year working on projects for the betterment of our students. We welcome everyone to join our P&C including staff, families and community members.
For more information or to find out when the next meeting or event will be held contact the P&C secretary on BSC_PANDC@hotmail.com
The college board is made up of staff, student councillors, parents and guardians, and community members who work together to help govern the school and make decisions based on that is the best for the students. The Board members approve financial reports, comment on college policies, provide feedback on strategic directions and give general advice from the perspective of families, students and local businesses.
See our College Staff page for current members.
Byford Secondary College is proud to host a local Indigenous Reference Group who advises the college on best practice and wellbeing of our Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander families and students. A member of this group and college alumni, Mitchell Merritt is a member of the College Board.
The College is also involved in several indigenous student-centric programs:
We have a variety of supporting bodies and groups that provide resources, financial aid, workplace opportunities, time and volunteers to the college on a regular basis. These partnerships allow us to provide extended courses, excursions and work placements.
